The United Kingdom seriously has something to apologize for. Why is that about once a year they send us some shitty music and everyone in the United States wets themselves, presumably assuming that since they are British they must be good. I will need to at this point invoke Travis and Coldplay. The lastest entry to this import suckfest is a band called Franz Ferdinand. Lets not stop at the fact that their name is exceptionally stupid, they are fundamentally just annoying. At least being annoying sets them apart from other crappy British bands in so much as they seem to not be whining about anything. I actually paid good money for this album. I heard a lot of people saying very good things about it, hell everyone should be allowed to bow to peer pressure occasionally. The first song on their self titled album has an exceptionally obnoxious repetitive guitar riff and vocals that over and over again assert that they need money to go on vaction. The third song sounds like something left off the last Strokes album, this is bad considering that this song, "take me out," is the currently featured single. The best thing I can say about this album is that some of the songs are not really please let me go deaf bad. "Matinee" at times has a decent garage rock vibe, but a really annoying chorus. The singer sounds like he is in some lounge with a velvet suit and thin mustasche. (no to the best of my knowledge he doesn't have one)
So please England, American music press can't be trusted to discern your crap from your decent music, refrain from sending us anymore until we can get this problem sorted. In exchange, we will attempt to cease export of terrible situational comedys.
