It's a studiously apolitical book but Marc Levinson's THE BOX (2016), a detailed history of containerized shipping, is a really great way to understand how the global supply chain works - and how terrifyingly precarious it is.

I'm really disappointed that the video you posted did not actually have the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" music in it.
Seriously though, I'm really surprised that this has not been a bigger story. Yeltsin was really the face of the collapse of the Soviet Union and quite the celebrity in the United States. Given how much our country (read Republicans) has celebrated Ronald Reagan for bringing down the USSR, shouldn't they have the same admiration for Yeltsin?

I completely agree with Scott. Republicans really believe Reagan was the sole reason for the collapse of the Soviet Union. My Dad always acts like this, yet he doesn't acknowledge the utter stagnation of the USSR's economy, the insane amount of repression and death (Which make Hitler look like a Girl Scout), etc. Yeltsin actually did stuff to help bring down the USSR and was the true hero. I would like to see what Hannity or Bill "I'm the biggest douche ever" O'Reily would have to say about this.
Also, I think Keith Richards defies the Layne Staley theory. Richards may be a warlock.
